1. So glad that it is Friday, another week done and only 4 more weeks till Christmas vacay!
2. On Monday I had a sale in my etsy shop so I am busy busy busy crocheting away!
3. Since we've been married, we have moved three times. Each time it takes me about a year to start making friends and really settling in. Then I enjoy it for a few months, and then we move again. It sucks, but I am just not someone who makes friends easily or quickly. So since moving here in June we have not socialized a ton. Yesterday we had two little girls over for a playdate and my girls loved it. Maria cried for an hour when they left and I felt so bad! She is begging me to have someone over today...I feel so horrible for my poor undersocialized homeschooler.
4. Today we woke up to the first snowfall...just a light dusting that was gone very quickly. Is it ridiculous that I am excited for a real snowfall? I know once it comes I will be dying for it to leave....for months and months...
5. I am thinking of having a giveaway for all the 1.2 readers of my blog. Are you excited?!
6. We are excited for the start of Advent on Sunday!!
7. This baby turned 8 months old this week! Yikes he's growing so fast!!
Have a lovely weekend and go see Jen!

What I Wore to Thanksgiving....
Although it is not technically Thanksgiving in this country, we decided to show solidarity with our lovely American friends and fam and celebrate it too. Because we are weird like that. And because its another excuse to have a turkey dinner, which I've never made before! And it was fun! Also I couldn't say no to the lovely Grace who is hosting the What I Wore to Thanksgiving Dinner linkup, so I decided to put something on other then my usual sweatpants....
Looking slightly annoyed...
Gosh its harder than it looks to get good photos of oneself!
Such a natural with the candid shots..
The outfit details:
Shirt: Old Navy
Pants: At least 5 years old from RW&co
Shoes: Spring
Earring: gifted
scraggly hair: gift from God
Happy Thanksgiving to all you Americans!

7 Quick Takes
1. William is finally better! He was so sick and so not himself for so many days and I am so relieved he's finally back to himself! Last night was the first night he has slept right through...so I'm feeling pretty good today!
2. Maria and I were looking at a globe ball that she has. She pointed out Russia and I said "Russia is really big, isn't it?" And she said "Yes, but Canada has the longest coastline in the world!" Haha...what?! I guess it does?! You learn something new every day...sometimes from your 5 year old!
3. You know what I hate? Library fines. Today I realized that I have books I needed to renew, and I was BLOCKED from doing so because my fines were too high. Ugh. So I caved and paid the darn thing so my slate is now wiped clean...let's see how long it takes for it to build back up again!
4. I took William to the doctor on Tuesday and was made to feel like the worst mom and biggest weirdo around. He was all like ``Why the hell are you here because your child is perfectly fine`` and ``I am shocked and you are a negligent mother because your kids` shots are not up do date`` and ``Why the hell does your child not go to school if she is 5 years old...`` And I have vowed never to leave my house again!
5. I am way too excited for the weekend.
6. I have nothing interesting to say.
7. William has been napping for 2 hours now, which is so unusual and I don`t know what to do with myself!
Go see Jen!

7 Quick Takes Friday!
1. My baby is sick again. Although last week his first two teeth appeared the next day, so I'm pretty sure that's what the fever was for. But last night he had a super high fever and I hate hate hate fevers in babies. I cannot stop worrying and imagining the worst.
2. So after four days of Halloween candy eating, Maria declared to me that the next day we should have no more sweets. A great idea of course! So we had a healthy day of eating fruit and vegetables. Then she said we should have no more candy until Sunday (it was Monday)....which later turned into no more candy until Christmas. Haha....I guess I must talk a lot about healthy eating and how sugar is bad for you?
3. The funnier part is that Felicity, who loves her some sweets and who does not possess the natural self control of her bigger sister, just followed right along and has not requested a drop of candy since.
4. The ban on candy has now turned into some sort of sugar detox. Maria was eating homemade granola for breakfast and asked, "Is there sugar in this?" I answered, "A little" ( I have to put a little in order to convince my husband to eat it)...and she pushed it away and said "Then I don't want it!"........
5. I have to say I am loving this phase in which my kids believe everything I say...it will be a sad day when they start thinking on their own....
6. I'm so glad its a long weekend!!! Although I'm not allowing myself to get too excited before I know for sure that the husband does not have to work it.......
7. Have a lovely weekend everyone and go see Jen for more Quick Takes!

Dictated by my 5 year old
I am writing two posts in one evening, because Maria watched me write the last one about William and said "You should write one about me!" And so I am. Entirely dictated by her.
Maria's favourite foods are feta cheese, carrots, tomatoes, oranges, grapes, chili, spaghetti, peaches, plums, and mangoes, chicken noodle soup, the pasta at Costco. She doesn't like beans. Felicity's favourites are apples, tomatoes, green beans, peas, smoothies, and oranges. She hates mangoes, sweet potatoes, and apple pie.
Maria loves butterflies. She had a butterfly party when she turned 5. Her favourite things to do are play hide and seek with Daddy, swing on the monkey bars at the park, ride her bike, read, exercise, play restaurant games (we played that our house was East Side Mario's for supper one day), make Willy laugh, and text Emma (her cousin). She loves her sister and brother.
When she grows up, she wants to be a swimmer and a mommy. She wants to have 2 boys and 2 girls.
Maria likes to wear her butterfly shirts (she has 2), her flower dress and matching pink coat, and her Easter dress.
Maria really loves the face painting that is in the picture.
The End.

7 Months Old
This little guy turned 7 months old last week. He is still the sweetest kid around! He is still not crawling exactly, but he creeps around on his belly and is getting pretty fast. Both the girls crawled at 6 months...are boys supposed to be faster at these milestones or slower? Shane is already working at getting him drafted for the NFL so if being slow to crawl has any bearing on his athletic ability....just kidding...
His favourite foods are sweet potatoes, spinach, broccoli, apples, peas and bananas. Basically anything except carrots and green beans. Felicity took this as a personal insult because he absolutely couldn't stand the beans, and she loves them, I mean LOVES them...like she'd rather eat a huge plate full of green beans then dessert.
William has actually gone a couple steps back in the sleep department...he used to sleep through the night consistently, but now he will sometimes, but lots of nights he wakes up at least once. I'm hoping it was due to growth spurts/ teething, because I've totally been too lazy to do anything about it so I just nurse him and put him back to bed..which is probably becoming a habit and that's why he's still doing it. He got his first teeth a few days ago!!! Two of them! After a feverish and sleepless night, they appeared!
Babies are so much fun because in one month they go through so many life changing events. He started moving, eating and got teeth! Love you Will-Will and can't wait to see what fun things this month will bring:)

7 Quick Takes
1. My baby is sick. I don't like it. He is so cute and sad and tired, but still sweet as anything.
2. I got very little sleep last night.
3. If you're an Anne fan, you'll appreciate this one: Yesterday Maria says to me randomly, "Mommy, Gilbert was right. Being smart is better than being pretty." haha
4. Then she says " But being good is best of all." It was All Saints Day so she was reading, drawing, and acting everything Saint.
5. We got our craft on yesterday and made these amazing puppets

Hopefully it'll fill their craft needs for the next month, because the mess that it made will take me a month to get over.
6. My kids are being silly and driving me nuts....
7. So I better go pay attention to them.

Happy Feast of All Saints and a Halloween story
So, after counting down the days for two weeks, Maria woke up in the morning so excited that the day finally had arrived! After supper we got costumes on and waited for Daddy to come home. He arrived, we got rain gear on and got ready to brave the torrential storm. Then all of the sudden out of nowhere Maria freaked out. Said she wasn't going. She was too scared. She screamed, cried, ripped her costume off and ran upstairs to put her pajamas on and go to bed because she would rather do that and have not one piece of candy, then go trick or treating. We were shocked! Felicity of course followed suit and started screaming like we were trying to force them to go get their teeth pulled out or something. I knew they had been so excited about this that they would surely regret it. So we dragged them kicking and screaming out the door...so ridiculous! I don't know what got into Maria's head....she must've seen something scary out the window? But once she snapped out of it they both had a ball...even in the rain!
Mary and Laura Ingalls
Tigger!
We got way too much candy. Most of it will be eaten by Daddy.
When we got home, Maria was eager for more trick or treaters to come to our door so she could give them the millions of bags chips that she got...haha...great idea kiddo!
Today is All Saints Day! I have a few little saints running around...pictures to come:)
